The 2021 Annual Fundraising Event
Complementing Xellia’s corporate funding of the SOS Family Strengthening Program in Eldoret, for the seventh year, Xellia’s Annual Fundraising Event was held. This year, raising funds to support 5 preschool and daycare centers in Eldoret, Kenya, with sanitary solutions and in improving the educational environment. During our Annual Fundraising Event, where all our sites are invited to come together to fundraise for the same collective cause - our aim was to help improve the facilities at these preschool and daycare centers, to help better the conditions for quality care and good hygiene.
The SOS Family Strengthening Program in Eldoret, Kenya has moved into two new areas where many parents face hardships. In these two new areas, there are five preschool and daycare centers which are in very poor condition and do not have washrooms or proper toilet facilities. Benefiting up to 700 children attending the schools, the money raised during the event will be used for renovations, furniture, play and learning materials and for the construction of eco-toilets and other sanitary and sustainable hygiene solutions.
During the three-week period of the Annual Fundraising Event 2021, Xellia colleagues managed to raise funds which will support 700 children attending the five preschool and daycare centers.
The trip to Eldoret...
In connection with the Annual Fundraising Event, each year, all colleagues who make a donation have a chance to sign up to be part of the lucky draw to visit Eldoret, Kenya. The trip coordinated by Xellia, SOS Children’s Villages Denmark and Eldoret, Kenya is a trip of a lifetime and gives our colleagues the opportunity to see their donations come to life and meet the people we are helping; experience the programs our corporate funding supports, and also brings back to Xellia ideas for new fundraising initiatives.
Due to COVID-19, the winners from the lucky draw 2019, 2020 were not able to make the trip, but hopefully along with the winners from 2021, will be able to make the trip collectively in 2022. See the video below from our trip in 2019.
